I have no idea why anyone would like white skin.

Not white skin as in white people. But white skin.

It does nothing to me. Nothing at all. I can’t imagine white skin the way I can brown.

Brown skin under the shower, as the water bounces off it. Brown skin in the sunshine, browned just a little more in happiness. Brown skin, with goosebumps. Brown skin under cool white sheets. Brown skin entwined with brown skin.

Anyhoo, I watched Housefull 2 today. AGAIN. For the second time, with a couple of friends. While I was laughing my arse off for every silly gag, my friends were like, -_- 
No-brainers(especially from Sajid Khan) work for me once a while. Mind you, only once a while. Helps you de-stress and forget everything you've had on your mind for quite a while. 
Akshay's "ayyyyyeeee" is epic. 
Both Sajid and Farah make equally dumb movies, all of which I have watched and nearly puked on the DVD copies. TMK it seems, I can only make a better movie. 

So, I did a bit of studying today. A bit of advising my best friend. A bit of exercising. A bit of editing my third poem, which is still untitled. Titling a poem is harder than understanding Pitbull's lyrics.

e-ciggie, for a healthy life!

I read this article in Bangalore Times today, which caught my attention and also left me wowed. :)
Time and again, technology is proving a boon to mankind (booyah, if you don't think so -.-).

So, what is an e-ciggie? An e-cigarette, is an electrical device that produces an inhaled vapor bearing the physical sensation, appearance, and often the flavor of inhaled tobacco smoke, without it's odour and, apparently, its health risks.

Initially, these were available only in the US, but now they have found their way into various cities across the world. Cheers to that.

e-ciggie has been the answer to lots of peoples' smoking needs. Recently, Hollywood hottie Leonardo Di Caprio was spotted smoking one. The actor, who is trying to give up his nicotine addiction quoted, "It feels like the real thing, but it ain't." 
Many B-town biggies like Sonam Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan and Salman Khan have stood up in favor of this wonderful creation.

Personally, I think it's extremely rude to blow smoke around non-smokers. e-ciggies are good because they create the effect and feel of smoking without actually putting nicotine and tobacco into your body.

It's just a cool, new and a better way of smoking. \m/

Once upon a Saturday..

Like any other Saturday, I had chemistry lab classes. What I love about Saturdays is that we have only 2 hours of college and three hours of tuition!!
So, it was this one Saturday when Mahima, Shetty and I were completely jobless. I decided to stay back after college and go directly to tuition. (College ends at 11:30 am and tuition begins at 4:00 pm)
We thought we'd go hog on something in Bun World [http://maps.google.co.in/maps/place?um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=bun+world+malleswaram&fb=1&gl=in&hq=bun+world&hnear=0x3bae3d7fff79cfc3:0xdfbaac7a46a4a5be,Malleshwaram,+Bengaluru,+Karnataka&cid=12517349149487401858] and just laze around. But, no!
We are apparently not-so-boring.


Shetty : "Let's walk till we get like completely exhausted!!" How typical of her.
Mahima :  "We'll go crash some wedding?" How typical of her.
I : "Let's just stick to the walking plan?"

Hence, we began walking the famous yet dirty roads of Malleshwaram. It was a lovely walk, I remember. The weather was just so perfect and there was a little breeze. Wasn't too sunny or too windy. (You know you're a true Bangalorean if you're constantly cribbing about the weather :P). Aaaanywho, we came across this school called Christ The King Public School which also had a cathedral in it's vicinity. We went in to check out the campus and mother of God, we saw a huuuuge glass building in the back drop.
Guess what it was? Yes! The World Trade Center!!

Mahima : "Omg! We HAVE to go there. I've heard there's a lake. :OO"

WTC!

There was this little lane next to the school. We decided to take that way. That road led us to a railway crossing and we reached Yeshwanthpur. On the other side of the railway track, were rows of Renaissance Parks. We remembered that one of our seniors stayed in Park-2. Maybe she could help us get to the WTC.
She was quite bewildered when we raided her house out of the blue, but was kind enough to understand our excitement and guide us to our destiny (:P).

We trespassed Columbia Asia Hospital and there it was, the World Trade Center! Woooooo! xD

Lake (:

It was like a complex. It was so hypnotizing. The lake is so pretty! The building, absolutely magnificent! We were in complete awe and couldn't help but scream out the excitement.
We wanted to enter the WTC, but obviously we weren't allowed cause we dont work there. But we were quite desperate. So, we told the Security that we are young and serious students working on a thesis, "Upcoming properties in Bangalore". EPIC FAIL. They didn't believe a word it and asked us to buzz off! Dayum.

Also, there was this mall coming up. It was called Orion. Orion, now, is the biggest mall in India. And, there was The Sheraton with an absolutely brilliant architecture. To our left, was the Brigade Gateway apartments. Just imagine living there!!

We also ventured into the apartments (yes, we are very naughty kids). We climbed onto the terrace, 19 floors upwards. My, my! We could see the whole of Bangalore from there! From UB City to the Twin Towers to the BIA! It was awesome!

All right kids, enough of the fun, just get your asses back home.
One helluva day it was, which none of us shall never forget.

The movie is awesome. Action packed, funny and also carries a strong message about team work. A must watch. ****

Kill the goddamn stress

Do you feel constantly tense? Are your muscles tight and aching? Do you find yourself snapping at colleagues or family members? Do you feel a sense of panic and overwhelm when you think about your to-do list, or your email inbox? Are you constantly “wired”, in a jittery, negative way? (Do I sound like a commercial? :P)




Here are eight secrets – physical and mental – that will radically reduce your stress. Try focusing on one physical and one mental tip each week, until you’ve got all eight in play.


Physical


These four secrets are all to do with treating your body well in order to avoid stress.
Exercise
I have to confess, I’ve been slacking off on my exercise routine this summer – my excuses are that it’s been too hot, and that I’ve been too busy. After a couple of months where I didn’t set foot inside the gym, I made the time to go for a workout twice last week. I was amazed how much less stressed I felt as a result.


You don’t need to hit the gym to reduce your stress – though moderate-high intensity exercise will do more good than a low-level activity. A brisk walk, a cycle ride, or a jog gives you the same stress-busting results. You’ll find that your worries, your work and your to-do list fade from your mind while you’re busy getting active.


Get Enough Sleep
Do you go to bed too late, and struggle to get up in the mornings? Do you find yourself gulping down coffee just to stay awake? If you’re sleep-deprived, you’re going to find life stressful: you’ll make mistakes, you’ll be irritable, and you’ll struggle to maintain the emotional equilibrium to cope with the normal ups and downs of the day.


My tips for getting enough sleep are:


Give yourself a bed time – and stick to it.


Don’t work within two hours of your bedtime. Definitely don’t “check emails just once more” straight before bed... you’ll either end up replying there and then, or you’ll have them on your mind all night.


Shut down your computer an hour before bed.


Eat Healthily
Feelings of exhaustion, sluggishness or tiredness often contribute to our stress levels – and these can be caused by what we’re eating. You know all the basics: eating breakfast, focusing your meals on wholegrains, lean protein sources and fruit and veg, drinking plenty of water...


Taking the time to eat a healthy meal can also help reduce stress by providing a break in your day. Don’t scoff down lunch at your desk – you’ll barely taste it, and eating in a hurry like this isn’t good for your digestion. Get away from your desk (outside the office, if possible) and give yourself time to enjoy and appreciate your food: this also helps you to eat less, which in turn means you’ll feel more awake in the afternoon.


Cut Caffeine
We all know that jittery, wired feeling that comes from drinking too much coffee. Caffeine is stressful to your body – it acts like a poison, and the “pick me up” you get is actually your body fighting that poison off.


Don’t resort to energy drinks either: these can contain huge doses of caffeine, along with a lot of sugar – which won’t do your short-term concentration or your long-term health any favors.

These four secrets are ones that primarily affect your mind.
Recognize When You’re Getting Stressed
None of us go straight from blissful calm to heart-pounding stress. You’ve probably had days when you couldfeel yourself getting more and more worked up. Perhaps you worked for hours without a break, or maybe a few small problems – perhaps with your computer or your office lighting or heating – were winding you up for ages.


There are a number of emotional signals that you’re getting stressed, including:


Feeling overwhelmed when you contemplate your workload


Having the urge to cry or scream


Wanting to hit something (or someone!)


Often, stress can be stopped in its tracks by learning what your early-warning symptoms are.


Take a Time Out
Once you’ve got a handle on how you feel when you’re getting stressed, you can often stop yourself getting that worked up. When you start to become stressed, take a time out. Go for a five minute walk, sit with your eyes closed for a couple of minutes, switch to a different task if what you’re working on is making you feel stressed.


Just getting out of the immediate situation is often enough to help you calm down and get perspective. This is important for your own mental health – but also for the people around you. If you’re getting very het up in a tense situation with colleagues or relatives, make an excuse and slip away for a few minutes. This will help you calm down so you don’t lose your temper.


Do One Thing at a Time
In today’s work – and home – environments, we rarely focus on one thing at a time. We end up cooking while making a phone call, checking emails during dinner, or playing around on Facebook and Twitter when we intended to do the online grocery shop.When you multi-task, you split your attention between two things – and often end up dropping the ball on one of them. (Who hasn’t burnt the dinner because they got distracted while cooking?) Also, an obsessive focus on “being efficient” can actually make you more stressed, as you’ll feel that life is just one chore after another.


Write in a Journal
Finally, one of the most effective ways I’ve found to reduce stress is to write a journal. This doesn’t need to be complicated or time-consuming: just spend ten minutes, ideally at the end of each day, reviewing how things went, what you’ve felt good about, what’s been a source of stress, and what you’ve learnt.


This is a great way to get problems into perspective, to find the good side in situations that might have been stressful at the time, and to notice patterns in your life. Through journaling, you can often see what’s causing you stress – and you can work to eliminate it.


Journaling is also a good way to get thoughts out of your mind before you go to bed; many people find this helps them to sleep better.

What is Daiquiri?

So, as all of you know, I am the author and admin of the blog : Sir Isaac Newton - The Freak(http://newtonthefreak.blogspot.in/). Many of my followers and readers told me that it's time I start blogging about something more informal, something fresh. Hence, I present to you DAIQUIRI.

Daiquiri!

Most of you must be wondering what the hell is up with my blog title. Daiquiri, you know, is a cocktail made of rum, lime juice, sugar (sometimes honey) and berries. But I'm trying to underline it's metaphorical meaning here.
The blog description says it all.
 How did I come up with this wonderful title? In fact, I didn't.
Let me narrate to you a small story behind this title.

Core Team

In my 11th std., we were given a notice board kinda thing and were asked to decorate it with articles and paintings (Yes, my college is pretty dumb). The core team for this assignment comprised around 12 people and the only thing that was awesome about this project was that we didn't have to attend classes for around 4 days. Christmas was round the corner and so we decided that a major part of the board would be allocated for the story of Jesus Christ's birth.

We got a huge response from our fellow classmates who gave in beautiful paintings and articles about science, sports, etcetra. Of course we could not disappoint their hard work by not displaying those posts. Hell no.
Dilemma - We wanted one single theme, but turned out we had articles ranging from Christmas, college life, sports, food, science, humor and what not!
Okay, we shall put up all these articles.
But what about the title people?
Dictionary in hand, glasses on nose, start searching for the most awesome and apt word.
My friend (Mahima) and I were looking through the D's and we come across this word - Daiquiri. My first reaction, I don't even know how to pronounce it :P
But then Mahima was struck by a brilliant thought and yelled, "GUYS! METAPHORRRR!"
And, hence the title.
Unfortunately, our lecturers couldn't comprehend the intended meaning and instead told us off for "thinking about alcohol in this age" (Like, seriously?).
Daiquiri was misunderstood and discarded. But it's memories still remain.
I therefore dedicate this blog to the wonderful time we had in creating Daiquiri and also to all you readers for appreciating my work in my parallel blog.
